Who is Allah, my friend:?
A discussion between a friend of my heart from way back in my school days, was seeing me again and this picture of me sparked a very interesting question, that I did my best to answer honestly...thank you for the opportunity to offer dawah:)
God Bless and Ramadan Mubarak!
What or who is Allah?
Who is God to the Muslims?
Conversations between old friends....yields the question
Seeing you always sparks something in me. I'll be good today. But you attire sparked my curiosity and I'm hoping you can enlighten me where I'm ignorant. I know you to be strong in your faith and religious practice. Do you know the history of the Muslim religion? How it began and what the belief system is?
I have read and heard that Abraham is "the Father of Muslims." The Bible quotes Abraham to be "the Father of many nations." I have read that Ishmael, Abraham's 1st son, is a direct link to the Muslim Faith. Whereas Isaac, Abraham's 2nd son, is quoted to be directed linked to Jewish faith and then to Jesus and Christianity.
I have heard and read that Jesus is quoted in the Quran and some scriptures in the Quran match scriptures in the Bible. What or who is Allah? Who is God to the Muslims?-is my focus question. I may be way off but if Jews, Christians and Muslims all worship the God of Abraham then why are we so different in our religious practices yet so succint in faith, love and prayer?

First let me say thank you, that humbles me...I am blessed and appreciative for it...the attire, it is a scarf called a "hijab" which just means covering or veil.. in Jewish culture, they wore them up until the turn of the century, then rationalized the covering of the hair with wigs...that's why many Jewish women were them...the men often still wear bini's which are called "kuffi" in Islam...all same things...just different names...Christians who are in the order still do as well...and nuns still were the hair covering...you have got it right..it's all the same religion...just different names and too many hands in the pot of God's decree's...so then we get splintering...even as he repeatedly warns us against that...
We are all the children of Abraham....either way all brethren...and their is always blessings of Lord that keeps us! What I need to beware of is the assumption that everyone knows this already...so thank you for bringing it to my attention...we still have to share and teach each other...so we may learn from one another...that is what the Qur'an says...and that we are not to argue with the Christians, they are closer to as brothers.":)
It is true...Jesus is mentioned many times in the Qur'an and his mother is one of the four holy women we revere as women of character and substance...Allah has made us all perfect...we are all making an effort to be Christ like...and Christ speaks of Muh-Ahmed- or the comforter in John 14-18...and he tells the people to ask not wither I go...and there will be a comforter to carry them through...to the promise Allah made to Abraham...so there is the connection that brings it all together...
Look up the name of God through out the ages...Allah is the sound that is most consistent throughout time....it is the only sound you will make when all the air is expressed from the lips of the dying...the last and only sound needed...the name of God...yeah there is only ONE no matter how many different ways we try to call him by or split him into what we think we need...He is the All One, God the All Mighty, God of Abraham...we are the deficiency in our faith...he has made this a single lesson for all of man and with our politics and prejudice we have carved that lesson on life up into dogmatic rituals that comfort us from the loneliness of witnessing the truth and its glorious facets...that God is the only one who can save us from ourselves...and to truly comfort us he has made his promise true to those who witness his Oneness and accept the knowledge with that understanding. The last verse revealed to Muhammad is regarding that promise to Abraham and He says, "and this day have I perfected my promise to you," speaking to Abraham and man in this breath of completion...so we know that the circle has been completed on the promises of prophecy and law.
Wow...that was a lot...I hop I answered the questions you have posed...and more importantly, thank you for allowing me to offer what I know...I pray that it finds a way to shed light on your already bright heart...I know you to be a believer and a seeking man of faith and wisdom..so surely I will see you soon...God bless
you Loverous:) hope the light is on.
Love and Peace
